Sanidhya is a Ph. D. Research Associate at the CZS Institute for AI and Law. He completed his undergraduate education from National Law University Delhi, India in 2021, obtaining a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.). He subsequently practised as an advocate specialising in intellectual property law and technology laws in the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India for two years. Sanidhya pursued his LL.M. at the UC Berkeley School of Law in USA in 2024, obtaining a Certificate of Specialisation in Technology Laws. After the completion of his Master's, Sanidhya joined us in February 2025 and has been enthusiastically engaged in his research at the Institute since.
Research Interests
Sanidhya is researching the regulation of deepfakes in European Law for his Ph. D. Sanidhya wishes to analyse the different regulations in the EU ecosystem, such as the Artificial Intelligence Act and the Digital Services Act, and identify gaps in the laws which may pose issues with the regulation of deepfakes. His research then seeks to analyse some of the global regulations from USA, UK, China, South Korea, and India, to inform how implementation of legislation, case law, and policy can be tuned better in the EU.Outside out his Ph. D. work, Sanidhya has an deep interest in intellectual property regimes globally, and their implications on the fashion market and on multimedia technologies. Additionally, he also seeks to expand his research in the future to the intersection of caste-based marginalisation in India, technology, and intellectual property.
Hobbies
Sanidhya enthusiastically claims he has many interests outside of the legal and tech regulation world. He loves playing sports, specifically football and badminton. When he's not playing competitive sports, Sanidhya loves a hike, or even a walk through the town. When visiting any place he makes it a point to visit as many art galleries and museums as possible, taking a great interest in the cultural history of the place. When Sanidhya isn't enjoying the splendour of the outdoors, he likes to unwind indoors painting his sneakers, or playing multiplayer video games with his friends. Sanidhya also expresses his creativity through diverse photography and origami.
